The Dept of Energy says we can have 20% of our electricity provided by wind by 2030.
2030-2008= 22 yrs for only 20% of our energy to be provided "alternatively".
The fact is that drilling here is needed while we develop alternative energy and put the structures in place.
Again-
THINK for once and stop relying on politicians to do it for you. You can vote for Obama if you want, but even he can't fight the reality of 22 yrs.
Drilling is reality now.

The energy problems of this country are not going to be eradicated by short-sighted, unsustainable measures like increased domestic drilling. Any slight benefit will certainly not be immediate, and the amount that our own reserves could contribute to our total consumption is paltry. We need to *reduce* consumption, spend our efforts on more efficient products, and agressively develop renewable sources of energy. Innovate Here, Innovate Now!

Obama will keep wasteful programs and create more new big government programs. He will pay for these increases by raising taxes on seniors, parents, small business owners and people with even a modest investment in the market. Thats not change we can believe in.

peak oil is a reality... so yes, you could drill more, pay less...for the moment. but the ressources of our planet Earth ARE limited. which means, drill more, get out of oil (and other ressources) even faster.

Since we have the internet and cell phones, we should not need to drive all over the place as often and we might need less oil.
All the energy has not been squeezed out of biological waste. Try bio-gas first.

Very bad, that might be a solution for right now to pay less, but it will also prevent people from changing their thoughts about wasting ressources. And its very egoistical to do it that way and rob the future generations just to drive a big and gas wasting car.
Its not just about money and fun now, a lot of people should start to think about the future of the next generations and our kids.

these are all hillbilly dumb fucks that dont realize our fucking fossil fuel reserves are limited and we will fucking run out one day along with a shit load of pollution in our environment. find an alternative fuel instead of killing our planet. not saying dont drill.. but dont over do it. people will drive endlessly and were going to run out oil way faster.
